Working at Sligro, horeca distribution
Working at Sligro Breda means you are responsible for the daily deliveries of food an drinks to a lot of restaurants and cafes in the southern part of the Netherlands.
A normal workday starts between 05:00 and 07:00. Working Mondays to Saturday’s.
Living within a 20-minute radius from work, you’ll find Sligro conveniently close to Breda, a charming city in the south where some housing options allow for a Dutch commute—by bike. The workplace planner hands you the bill of loading and the keys to your boxtruck, though coffee is self-serve and at your own risk.
First weeks at the job you will have an assistant to help you with all procedures, loading and unloading. The planners at Breda take good care of their employers and try to help you in any way possible.
The day’s shipments are packed on rolcontainers, all set for loading at your assigned dock shelter. Your box truck, divided into compartments, requires a strategic packing approach: first in, last. Ensuring everything fits securely.
You’ll journey across the southern part of the Netherlands, visiting 7 to 15 locations daily. Driving in city centers, holiday resorts, or along highways.
What distinguishes this job is the personal touch—these restaurants are the domains of their individual owners. Your dedication is often noticed and rewarded with a warm welcome, assistance, premium coffee… and more.
Every route is planned for you to be on time. Efficiency is appreciated, often resulting in rewards from planners who might grant you longer routes, allowing for more hours if desired.
Once work concludes, you park your truck, return the keys, and head home. A relaxing evening or a quick shopping trip is conveniently nearby. Home is equipped with a complete kitchen, facilitating the preparation of a wholesome meal. Your starting time for the next day arrives via WhatsApp in the evening, signaling it’s time to unwind and get a good night’s sleep.

But that’s not all. When working in the Netherlands you got a lot of extras.
